Happy Birthday!

Bence is now a one-year-old! His birthday was a week ago, August 19Th. To celebrate the occasion we went to the zoo! It was his first time to a zoo and it was very exciting for all of us. August was able to take off work and Grandma, Aunt Kalli, Aunt Ronni and cousins Emma and Bailey all came for the day. Before departing for the zoo we ate lunch and sang to Bence and gave him his first cupcake ever. He didn't want to touch it! He lightly brushed the sprinkled frosted top with his fingers but otherwise looked upon it with disgust. We had to hold it up to his mouth for a few good bites and then I think he enjoyed it.

For updating purposes, Bence now weighs 21.5 pounds and is 32 inches long. He enjoys raisins, walking, going down slides, and rolling balls around. He can say a few words now--yum (food), dada, mum, ball (ba), kitty, Jesus (susus), shhh, yeah, and 'we we we' when you touch his feet (as in this little piggy...). He is also walking a little! He can walk a few steps away from things and sometimes he'll just stand not holding onto anything. He is trying more and more every day! I think that he is a very brave little boy, maybe a little reckless. I'm surprised at how much he doesn't get hurt with all of the daring things he tries. He can climb into the stroller and the high chair by himself, he still likes reading books, he loves to bite his stuffed animals noses, and dad is his favorite person. The tiger was really cool. He looked me in the eyes for a full 5 seconds and then shook his great big head. It was rather frightening.
